Army Cadets is a free program for young men and women that are between the ages of 12 and not yet 19 years old, that emphasizes the development of leadership skills, participation in local community service, greater fitness levels and an understanding of the Canadian Forces as an organization.
Army Cadets provides the opportunity for both Oakville and Bronte youth participation in challenging and exciting activities. Army Cadets is the oldest and one of the largest youth programs in Canada with a focus on outdoor adventure activities. Participation in Army Cadets will generate all of the required High School community hours and is a great way for young people to make new friends.
Those interested can join anytime. We encourage you to drop by on a parade night. We are based out of the Oakville Armoury, 90 Thomas Street. We parade on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm, from September to the end of June. Or simply call us for more information: (905) 901-4616 or email us at: oakvillearmycadets@gmail.com
Youth participants in the Army Cadets remain civilians throughout their involvement in the program and there is no obligation to join the military at any time.
